Founding Story

“Design and craftsmanship have always been an intrinsic part of my life, influenced greatly by my mother’s 25-year journey in the Indian garment industry. As a child, I found myself drawn to the finest chiffons and bridal wear materials from her store, fostering my love for fashion. My fascination with accessories, particularly bags, blossomed during visits to a friend’s leather bags export facility in Kolkata, where the shiny metal fittings and bright leathers left me mesmerised.

Following my passion, I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and later achieved a post-graduation Degree in Fashion Management from NIFT, New Delhi, receiving the prestigious Gold Medal for overall Academic Excellence in 2009.

Determined to make my mark in the fashion industry, I joined a buying agency where I sourced accessories for luxury international brands from India, gaining invaluable insights into the significance of quality. The dream of building a brand that epitomised strength, uniqueness, and a profound connection led me to create Lovetobag. Exploring the rich world of art, Indian crafts, and culture not only shaped my designs but also revealed the immense untapped potential within our country.

In 2011, Lovetobag was born, driven by a deep commitment to merging the best of Indian craftsmanship with modern sensibilities. This journey has allowed me to fulfil my dream of creating a brand that celebrates art, culture, and India’s creative spirit, and I continue to take pride in expanding the reach of Indian designs beyond borders.”
